[Review] Aquamarine 1/7 scale GGO Sinon review
Allow me to say thank you to Aquamarine for bringing in sculptor Satoshi Toda for his glorious handiwork with this 1/7 scale figure of Sinon [しのん].
Ever since Wonfest 2014 and the GK teasers, this Sinon (best girl discussions are that way (ノ^∇^)ノ゚) was my holy grail :D. While she did arrive late, I’m soooo glad I bit the bullet to get one. Now, on with the review and photoshoot.
Some box shots:
Simple, a bit spartan, but elegant. Just like the contents 😀 And now we take her out of the box 😀
Hello beautiful.
Aquamarine really did a good job with the final product.
As a Sword Art Online reader, the Phantom Bullet arc is still my favorite not just because it’s Sinon arc but because the LN Volumes for it were – personally – better up until Alicialization. But enough of that, let’s start marveling at the details that Aquamarine and Satoshi managed to cram into this figure.
First up: the PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate II
Looks like a real replica in small scale. Awesome work.
Now let’s take a look at Sinon herself.
Want to have that best girl discussion now? 😀 Dem curves! The sculpt on Hecate is one thing, but the work on Sinon is something else. The pose is relaxed, as if just coming off the battle field. I can just imagine posing her up on a high ground some place over looking the desolate landscape of GGO — her scarf flapping in the gusty winds. And yes, the bullets in hand are a nice touch.
I’m so glad I put off purchasing the previous releases by Kotobukiya, RAH, Embrace Japan (well, maybe not Embrace since it’s got a nice pose :D), Kadokawa, etc. and went with this one. Still not convinced about her? Take a good look at these body close-ups.
Here’s one shot of Sinon’s flowing scarf from the back.
And saving the best for last
You’re welcome :D.
Here’s a gallery of all the shots I’ve taken so far with her in my simple studio setup.
